John D. Brothers, Board Member, Braintree
John D. Brothers believes in bringing people together to build a stronger community. “What I find most rewarding, what drives my passion, is connecting and engaging people,” he says. A member of the Manet Board of Directors since 2000, he has made a career of community development.
John moved to Massachusetts in 1997 after earning a degree in International Relations and working with the YMCA in Washington, D.C. He currently serves as Executive Director of Quincy Asian Resources, Inc. (QARI), a position he’s held since 2004. During that time, he has strengthened QARI’s strategic planning and public advocacy while increasing its size, revenues, volunteers, programs, and community partnerships.

Among other achievements, he led the expansion of the YMCA into Germantown, including an effort to build a playground in a single day. Since joining the Manet Board, John has been an active member of the Board Development Committee, helping to recruit new members who reflect the diverse South Shore community.
